I still like the theory that Rothfuss is deliberately parodying the genre and his fans just aren't in on the joke. I don't think it's true, but I still like it.

I think it's literally true and Rothfuss has alluded to it in interviews I also think he's completely stuck on finishing Doors of Stone because he's now realizing his parody got read straight and he's suffering a loss of confidence
