we may never know studies arent great, media stories are atrocious and reading them probably leaves you more epistemically unsound than where you started, every message is a political reaction but people have lost the script so the narrative is confused

serious question… what can we do to protect ourselves at this point other than masking/sanitary things?… conflicting information & parenting is making my anxiety spike… with each new development

being vaccinated is probably the best thing to do if you're willing to do that as it sharply reduces both probability and severity of infection. get a good N95 or KN-95 mask if you want to mask up, limit exposure to large gatherings to taste

the main thing I'm actually concerned about is the possibility of a genuinely really bad strain developing, something more like OG SARS or MERS but if something like that happens we'll know pretty quickly, no point in getting hung up it in the mean time all of this just imo

no that makes sense with the amount of variants floating about & the sheer number of unvaccinated breeding grounds for things to just… continue that process. can’t win for losing.
