Do you think there are any good depictions of femininity in chivalric romances? The stories do seem very masculine Off the top of my head I'm getting . . . Le Roman de Silence, maybe, and almost surely Julie Andrews in _Camelot_ if I can count that But I'm not sure of this

I had a class on medieval lit in college, we got very much into the Arthurian saga and specifically the Saxon (and Celtic) stories vs. the French Romantic ones. It was terrific. Yvain was another favorite, but Gawain was the best.
