this is interesting wonder how much you might frame a blue / red divide primarily as "memeplex transmitted horizontally" vs "memeplex transmitted vertically" if you're pwned by the former you fret about strangers, if the latter you fret about your kidshttps://twitter.com/lordcataplanga/status/1418274942710337541?s=19 …

Lol "why aren't you going to church" is something I spent most of my youth hearing from people It's less direct but it's there They just don't have the zeitgeist domination to push it at the moment Have you forgotten the 90s so soon

would track with various studies(? data? idk it's going around) saying red understands blue far better than blue understands red

I do agree with this Blue tribe totally does not get red tribe Red tribe I think at least gets blue on an emotional level, they just disagree with the conclusions

I do think much of it has to do with the red tribe not having the sophisticated communications networks that blue tribe has, let alone the cultural clout to establish norm/narrative parameters.

Wife and I were talking about this earlier today. Last time red tribe evangelism (of any kind) was "allowed" or "acceptable" discourse was pre-social media and early. (mid 90s to mid 2000s). Part of it is Cthulhu swims left, but also there is no animating spirit on the right -

- that was dissipated during the Bush years, major court victories (Obergefell), with good knock down in the latest election. It's dormant, perhaps not dead. Most young people of a conservative bent (or simply not left are just not engaging at all - cost is too high) --
