Um, what part of history are you thinking of? Over the 16-17th centuries, Hungary was absorbed into the Habsburg monarchy, had a few failed uprisings against it (1703-11, 1848-49), was on the losing sides of WW1&2, had a failed uprising against Soviet puppet/occupation in 1956.
