One could argue that Japanese cuisine, say, is fairly bland - but they make up for it with fresh ingredients and good technique which levels it up enough to add to the Asian tally.

Southern Europe and the Maghreb, Latin America also do alright - Latin America mostly cause there's tons of beef and quantity can weight highly enough to matter.

West Africa also quite good, better than Moroccan food certainly - but haven't heard much about Central African cuisine, and what's good about East African food is not entirely authentic, but I suppose should count.

Don't think the Braai and Biltong of Southern Africa outweigh the Asado, somehow. Maybe I'm just biased, but I like spice and hear there's nothing like aji to put on top.

Eastern European food is actually a balanced, coherent cuisine - the fermented stuff is quite nice and mmm Smetana and Dill on everything.

Hungarians make monstrosities out of Dough and Cabbage and Goose but they flavour it all with paprika so they're alright. Gets worse the further west and north you go tho.

The Scandies simply lack the finesse of the Russians for all their access to seafood. What were they living on blubber all this while? I also have a hunch it was actually the Inuit who were eating all the lichens & the NOMA guy did a legit cultural appropriation.

The Germans and the Brits simply had to come up with baking cultures because I cannot see how else they could go on living. Even so. I am biased against bread. And if the best aspect of your cuisine is fucking cake, then well...

Central America gets its own tweet because mole is inventive as all heck.

And last and worst (trailing the Germanics, Celts, & Scandies) is North America. Food has never been reduced to such depravity. Nevertheless. I have eaten the Fries and McFlurrys. They are not, on balance....bad at all. Fin!

Interesting that some Italians profess to dislike Domino's Pizza. Question: if so, why are your cities filled with them? pic.twitter.com/3G8qqhrXOL
