a common and correct criticism of "ok lets pretend you dont exist" was 1. ok thats insulting 2. also thats inconvenient and a massive burden and 3. ok why the hell do straight people still get to do it then

yes, the distinction that people have difficulty drawing (in part because it actually can be difficult sometimes) is "ordinary amount of sharing just of something unusual" versus "oversharing"
