the entire east side of my apartment is made of glass. im expecting I can cover roughly three fifths of it with highly reflective material, reducing radiant contributions to heating by about 50% in the earlier part of the day

when you say "reflective material", do you mean white cotton sheets, or aluminium foil?

I got this plastic film stuff on Amazon. slightly translucent for visible spectrum, allegedly quite reflective for IR and/or UV. and I'm filling out some areas with straight aluminum foil.
