suppose you know of a woman who is marginally functional, eg she doesn't know how to get information or read particularly well but will understand things if shown this woman has in the past week had a baby and is floundering. she mostly lacks support. where can she find help?

I think she has a social worker assigned to her although that's not 24/7 support. she probably needs to get set up with child support and that is an obvious social worker angle. might she benefit from any charity? she is at least nominally christian if that is a consideration.

wife has two suggestions 1. there are reddit groups associated with each year and month based on due date - she joined one before Leah was born and it has an associated facebook group. you should be able to find it by posting on r/beyondthebump (and she can also ask qs there)

2. she could meet other moms via an app called peanut which is basically bumble for moms and she might be able to match with people there and then be able to do "playdates" to share childcare load

actually there is a third: wife does recommend reaching out to a local church, find a moms bible study group or similar, but also suggests having someone else contact the church and start these arrangements might be best

this feels much more feasible honestly. i think she needs some kind of more general guidance. once more thanks. :/
