I think she has a social worker assigned to her although that's not 24/7 support. she probably needs to get set up with child support and that is an obvious social worker angle. might she benefit from any charity? she is at least nominally christian if that is a consideration.

You don’t mention her age, but maybe there is state aid? https://www.childwelfare.gov/organizations/?CWIGFunctionsaction=rols:main.dspList&rolType=Custom&RS_ID=145 …

yeah, I think her social worker may be able to set her up with something tomorrow. no idea what the quality is but i think the fruit at this point is pretty low-hanging. thank you.

Tell her to join a first time moms group at a church. Take advantage of anything the state has to offer. In Texas they will keep track of and help the child from birth to age 2 I think. If she is in the Dallas area let me know.

Church was my first thought, too. Also - "Oh look, here is Exhibit 23095B of why churches turn out to be just a solid neat idea in so many ways that completely evade those who think you can just abolish it and, magically, society /improves/ basically overnight."

this is no way to talk about moon etc etc

(more seriously: women’s organisations/refuges! they exist for situations like this and even if they can’t support directly, they’ll know where to refer you. good churches will also dedicate resource to people in places like this)
