like probably most of you I've been into science fiction since I could read and it was a real pleasure to give people who write it a platform to speak about whatever was on their minds (naturally of course mostly scifi)

one of my actual beliefs is that we lack a vision of what a good society looks like in a post-modern world. I see science fiction, among other things as a vital literary means of exploring what it might look like; and so I am extremely grateful for their work.

Glad to see Karl Gallagher getting more exposure. Haven't heard from Barry Longyear in a while. I had a crazy idea for an epic SF novel called CLOWNWORLD, and I saw that he beat me to a punch with a series about a planet colonized by the descendants of a circus troupe.
