eg "we need a regulatory system for chemicals more like europe's" ok but you're seeing similar effects in europe that you do in the us so it seems it isnt doing much good eh and she doesnt address this or even seem aware of this issue in her reasoning

incidentally one consideration is that phthalate levels are probably extremely important during fetal development but maybe not so much outside it, relatively so may be of maximal interest if you're currently reproducing

overall I would guess 1. she's probably right on the effects on fetal development 2. it's probably less important to attend to if you're not pregnant or likely to become pregnant
