But is it that bad? Mosts kids won't learn to read properly anyway, and the smart ones will learn anyway. Isn't teaching the cope a good strategy for people who won't be able to read?

So I just read the article, and all the way through I kept thinking: I wonder if cueing is popular because it is basically the "guessing the teacher's password" method of teaching reading.
