flying for the first time since covid impressions 1. almost 20 years after 9/11 there are still assholes ordering people to dump out their water. air travel is probably the place most likely mandatory masks continue forever

I brought live ammunition

Things I've brought on a plane post-9/11 -a 6cm spring-operated knife -large bag of broken glass (picture frame broke in bag) -live rounds -a 26oz bottle of rum -corkscrews -can of sprite None of those precautions will prevent the next terror attack. It's all irrelevant hassle.

Razors aren’t explosive; last time someone tried to attack a plane with razors the passengers stopped them. Anyway, security isn’t about catching everything but catching enough to discourage any serious attempt.
-
More like discouraging anybody from flying. If nobody flies, there are no more terrorists! Hurray!

And yet, when I walked through a TSA checkpoint with one measly bullet in my bag, you'd think the sky was falling.
