I think it’s true in a narrow sense, as the field will grow and new tools will expand it, just how sklearn did before. But for craftsmen of stats/measurement I think we are safe for longer.

Yeah I think that's right. One heuristic I've used in looking at places is linkedin snooping; lot of places with bootcampers in ds roles now, which I take as a sign of the direction and of a hard pass
