I’m weirdly fascinated by aborted star pushes — Hollywood trying to make a young actor a movie star who is destined not to be a movie star. You see them a lot in “Young Star vs. Old Star” flicks. Case in point: Chris O’Donnell opposite Al Pacino in SCENT OF A WOMAN (1992).

Shia LaBeouf’s entire career in big movies is a great example of Hollywood pushing an actor. Spielberg was absolutely high on his own supply for believing he was the Next Big Thing.

Walt Disney's dying words. Except Kurt Russell was destined to be a star, just a very very un-Disney star
