Nobody ever actually wants a ‘classless society’. What people want is to be in the top class. Pitching a ‘classless society’ is one strategy to get there. The current Moment is fueled to a large extent by ressentiment from those who feel like they should be top class, & aren’t.

They didn't work because they didn't actually happen. They dusted some crumbs off the plate they have the banks and told everyone they cut poverty in half and smeared everyone who said otherwise as a Trumper continuing the same narrative as the stolen election people.
