conveniently this test was labeled "not useful for individuals" because it "lacks even internal validity" but the IAT was still used to detect whatever kind of group-level ambient racism was useful to any given social engineer

this represents a real advance coming from the field of psychology. few ideas have so widely influenced the discourse. science is nigh-dionysian in its power such that even the stuff that doesnt work as intended finds a use somewhere

anyway it is time to upset this paradigm and use one of my betes noires to end another

the social problem posed by the IAT is that it confirms we have massive racism dark matter but it doesnt let us know who specifically is a bad racist because its garbage consequently everyone is paranoid about which people are secret racists. and is it them

advances in machine learning will permit us to predict who is a racist given a rich enough sample of labeled data, and the model may deployed to generate official %Racist certifications for all adults firms will demand such credentials and publish their racism distributions

eventually, competition between certifying firms will spur a race to the bottom and Racist Estimators will look at a skinhead with an iron cross face tattoo like a ratings agency looking at CDOs in summer '07

ha ha a "race" to the bottom anyway the upshot is, perfect information about whos a racist generated by unquestionable Experts competing with each other on the market to juke the numbers is the true American solution to ending the Culture War
