who are all these surplus college-educated women supposed to marry and have kids with??? seriously, the male-female education gap in the US is worse than the overall gender gap in china :Shttps://twitter.com/Red4Viking/status/1390758590227652610?s=19 …

imagine this breakdown looks more sane when you sort out real degrees vs fake ones but still interesting

what are some fake degrees? like what shoddy programs are women graduating from that men are somehow avoiding that don't count as real for-profit online schools? liberal arts schools that don't teach skills? community colleges that are 5 yrs behind the times?

hmm, that seems like a male-centric idea of what constitutes a real degree teachers and social workers are in high demand education and health care (taking care of the young/old/disabled) are the biggest fields resistant to automation - men need to adapt to the market or die

Ngl I think a lot of the issue with fake degrees is just making people get degrees for things you used be able to do without degrees. Lots of rent seeking going on from academia. There’s really no reason someone needs a degree to teach 3rd graders division.

this sounds good in theory "haha why do we need teachers to be certified to teach basic math haha" but again it's a very male-centric view that only someone with no experience teaching would take seriously does anyone here want their kids to be taught by randos with no certs?
