People are unwilling to trade off income in exchange for children, and so our society is sacrificing potential children to gain greater individual household incomes About as Moloch as it gets

I think framing fertility rate issues as "society dying out by choice" is part of the issue here.
-
assume appropriate interpretations of 'society' and 'choice'

Not unheard of whatsoever if you consider how many peoples died out by willful ignorance as cultural suicide.

seems to be obviously happening, though a very common variety of crazy person admits on an individual level when pressed to emotion of any kind this is how consent to the georgia guidestones is manufactured

my main concern re: birth rates is about social safety nets, bc it would take dozens (hundreds?) of years for us to die out at a sustained 0 births / yr problem is we built the future on young people paying for retirement, assuming there would always be more young people to come
-
but not just any amount of young people, but a *necessary* amount of young people. but we can’t create new young people by government mandate, so we’re left with this mess
