You can kind of see air of the same thing in the US, just way less extreme. See the reaction to Yglesias' book (One Billion Americans). He got quite a few accusations of catering to nativism, but they were taken a lot less seriously than they would've in the UK.

He's right. I'm German and it hasn't become an accepted political topic here yet, i.e. without accusations of misogyny or - of course - racism. Our birth rates are really low, much lower than yours, and most retirement plans will probably collapse around 2030 because of it.

there are several possible solutions: 1. everyone shames childless women for being selfish 2. the state financially incentivises women to stay home 3. we find a way for people who skip 2 or more years of career to have the same career prospects as those who don't
