What do people who know about science think about J&J vs Moderna vaccine?
@halvorz @eigenrobot @seconds_0
I hear some people avoid J&J and others say MRNA tech is highly experimental
Tradeoffs? Recommendations?

moderna seems to work better but has unpleasant side effects associated with the second dose (in my experience with pfizer, which is similar to moderna, it was like being sick for 8 hours) j&j is one shot and has an extremely slim risk of blood clots

the blood clot issue may be related to taking hormonal birth control in cis women, which may be a concern for you depending on your hormonal intake

Yeah I have elevated risk here which is why I'm iffy about it Otoh it's not like I'm normally playing it safe with my health when it comes to substances I put in my body

I still think I likely already had it when I spent that 2 week period coughing all the time back in March

you could get an antibody test to see if you actually did have it, I think they're reasonably accurate
