I've had a manager take feedback well, but it was an act of social deftness that made it happen dude actually stopped doing the thing that was pissing everyone off, too

At the Fortune 500 company I worked at, they had an email address to submit complaints. One of our coworkers was fired unjustly, another complained. He was fired a couple weeks later. It's almost like a trap.

often "confidential" or "anonymous" means "we won't share this with your manager" or "the data is anonymized before its shared" not "HR doesn't and can't know who you are"

Not even HR sometimes! When I did FP&A there was one time I had to crosswalk names to an employee survey (which was explicitly only Manager blind) because the HR team couldn't figure out how to make vlookups work
