an interesting thing about Pirsig is that perhaps his hostility toward creative energy aka "the dynamic quality" and especially salient because scenes are more or less defined by the presence of this Quality in high concentration

we ended up dwelling in particular to the extent we dwelled on anything on the ephemeral nature of this Dynamic Quality it seems either a scene transitions into a static quality, or it dies

as a case study here we considered an arc common in religions, and their role in suppressing the dynamic quality in favor of promulgating the static i drew heavily on this essay in my thinking (its worth reading) http://www.catb.org/~esr/writings/dancing.html …

probably worth noting that pirsig seems insane to me "I have read many reviews criticizing my ideas, but I have yet to see anything that proves me wrong. I'd like to give a prize to the first person who can convince me that my ideas about a metaphysics of quality are wrong."

pretty interesting. question though, is dynamic energy meant to be channeled through society, or directed against it? should society pressurize it, or allow it to escape, or direct it to interfere with itself?
