you know what i actually love this completely awful but as least as plausible as Roe and certainly more plausible than Wickard interpretationhttps://twitter.com/BellaRudd1/status/1381197862575337473?s=19 …

ngl, i did hear someone cite that clause as a reason as to why getting the vaccine was treasonous ('corruption of blood' et al).

anyway but no. if youre curious/unfamiliar corruption of blood by bill of attainder refers to an old legal practice in England and probably other places in the western european royal/aristocratic system (all Salic law? uncertain) anyway

This whole thread is very good and interesting, but I'm trying to figure out just how much impact salic law had on english common law outside of the mostly obvious upper class applications of their inheritance practices. What's the obvious thing I'm missing here

im not sure but I bet not a lot. my hunch is the normans brought it for aristocratic propertied classes but maybe retained local legal systems for the rest

That'd be my assumption. It's pretty well understood from a narrative lense that the normans brought culture and class and (jerk off motion) with them from france, but the language of magna carta and other proclamation type stuff makes me think the "legal code" was robust already
