have ivy league schools become generally lower status relative to eg where they were in the aughts or is that only my internal assessment

i take back what I said about watching admissions rates. way too easy to game and the schools have too much invested in them as a measure of prestige probably better to watch how hard they're gaming them (waiving application fees, soliciting applications from weak candidates)

At the risk of overgeneralizing, foreign students tend to major in STEM while Americans lean towards gender studies. May not be the best deal for the US in the long run
