one thing that scott might have mentioned is the absolutely atrocious state of exercise science stuff where they have people who can eg bench their own bodyweight identified as "highly trained" participants, which imo is far more supportive of favoring metis

ok but longer rest times seems to me like uncontroversialy better once you try it? recall I did it coz you mentioned it I can see people wondering if it's best for gainzs to go to failure or do more exercise without straining yourself, but longer rests shouldn't hurt gainzs

Tbh, I think one thing that keeps short rest periods alive is gyms selling 60 min training sessions. Trainers have enough patter to fill 30-60s rests between sets but not 3-5 min
