It is a *feature* of the community, but it's certainly not the central one. Does Greer imagine that EY wrote the sequences as a therapy manual for genderqueer folk with depression?

No idea, but it gibes with my feeling about rationalism, which is that many adherents seem really into the world needing to be radically different from how it presently ishttps://twitter.com/sgodofsk/status/1368296806782734339 …

I haven't read the sequences, my understanding by reputation is that they're not a therapy manual at all, but they do serve a purpose for a certain kind of person who did not connect well with his peers or community growing up.

That's not a criticism, by the way. But I don't really feel like I need a rational explanation for the world around me all the time, and I think the urge to have one often comes from feeling like something is wrong, and wanting to know why.
