yes global warming straggles on but it seems like the space of cause areas has (i) contracted dramatically, and especially (ii) become less international in focus

I think Trump actually having a foreign policy realigned a lot of people's views on foreign affairs. Also, it's depending on your time frame, the economy and other local problems have gotten worse. Caring about overseas things is a luxury people in a bind cant afford
