Sure. And something like 40% of teachers quit after their first year and never go back to the profession again. And that's out of the people who went through the effort of earning at least a college degree in education, or in some states a master's degree.

This is true, but as others said, many of those self-select to leave quickly. There's a core element of teaching that some people either have or do not, and will never learn if not. Call it teacher-empathy, zooming in on AND meeting margins of each student's preparedness.
