I mean this quite sincerely. Closing now on a 1925 custom (though weren't they all) Craftsman. It has its issues, but they are known and manageable; the materials are fabulous, the craftsmanship excellent, and the persisting value top-notch. And the aesthetics rock.

This kind of thing is why new builds are such trash, the floor plans are idiotic so they can hit the bullet points. "Data says people want fireplaces and lofts. So let's put a fireplace in every room and make every room smaller in order to put in a 10x3 foot loft"
