18. i generally lean toward just accepting hormetic doses of potential allergens and even embracing them. especially for my daughter and subsequent kids. some rumors of asthma being a consequence of inadequate exposure to such. maybe better to get immune system gainz

So, I've been doing D3 5000 iu/day in a northerly latitude for a few years (sometimes with a break in the summer). My blood work consistently is still below average vit D, especially by springtime. My doc says 3k iu is better to prevent kidney stones, but I tell him to Fuck off.

I have also taken prescribed 50k iu D2 weekly for several weeks cuz my vit D was very very low.

the oral bioavailability of vitamin D varies wildly, even in the same supplement, and same patient, on different days maybe even different times of day, IIRC
