Most of the real left was very much against it (and Islamists took advantage of them, look at, eg, A.N.S.W.E.R). There was a pro-war left (eg Harry's Place) but it was very small. The hegemonic center-left was all-in for it, but that's a different group.

Personally I was for it at the time on generally Hitchens-ish grounds, although I would have much preferred Saddam be assassinated.
