Still ruminating on how to backtrack this question. What was the catalyst. Does it all go back to best practices? Impenetrable language and dissonant, inhuman managerial speak definitely encouraged an increase in classroom liturgy. That would put us a century in the hole.

Well choosing a specific moral outcome seems judgmental (and we can’t have that), while going with academic outcomes dovetails with meritocracy’s combination of empiricism and passive-aggressiveness.
