My impression from the limited exposure I've had is that the Bachelor/Bachelorette has always skewed rather hard to the southern and religious demographics. Also, things always shake out in the X distribution promulgated by college frat bros and quantified by OkCupid data

The odds no contestant would have any "problematic" social media or any network could navigate these waters in this climate of double standards and Kafka traps, are zero. The odds everyone would both defy stereotypes while respecting their identities, also zero... 1/2
-
As such the show managed to be a near perfect reflection of the country. This is why problems get swept under the rug, because when we talk about it people don't like what they see/hear. 2/2

Oh no, the guy is also not black enough and the girls he (they) choose are not black enough That whole thing is not so much about skin color, of course, but rather blackness/whiteness Feels like they could have had a black couple same ppl would go crazy ab their whiteness

Media trend I hate: referring to someone's "racist tweets" without saying what they were. For all I know, they could have been posting an innocent study like David Shor or calling someone the n-word and endorsing the KKK. I need to know where on the racism scale they are!
-
I say “David Shor” instead of using the n-word. Whats up, my David Shor? David Shor, please. David Shorz be ballin.

There is such an irritating innuendo. With the exception of the whole Annabellum party the writer seemed really not to want to share details. Like it would be inappropriate to discuss such things.
-
The details don’t matter, the lead chose the wrong girl. The part of the fanbase that wanted a black bachelor really wanted a specific winner. I’ve never seen the show but I have heard complaints that the black girl is always eliminated quickly, it was assumed this would fix it.
