I want a job rearranging people because it gives me power over the people who need to be brought to heel and puts the people I'm pretending to help in my debt

Yeah... Your theory is good. But puts you at odds for the quest for cosmic justice. And the fact of the matter is, it's actually good to judge peoples' desires.

you can't say this about being poor I know you already have before, but it's bogus, because it hinges on pretending that you don't understand that money is literally a measurement of which person can tell the other guy to eat shit if it comes to that
-
the only reason this fiction floats with most people is that there are less than three thousand people who don't have a vanishingly small fraction of the cost to tell everyone to eat shit

Can there be agency for a tortured person who is forced to believe he shouldn't be free. Many parts of his personality have been destroyed. He has adapted ways of thinking which made sense when he was tortured. The least the torturer can do is own up and take responsibility.
-
this is just timeless decision theory playing out

exogenous preferences, so whence agency? Luckily my preference is to 'improve' the preferences of other groups
