Ok here is the main thing that I have to say about Class and why you should read it. Class is an introduction to a novel social refactoring, and teaches you how to start Noticing something that we may as well call class.

It is outdated and it is often inaccurate and the Class X is a little cringe (although probably prophetic about things to come after the book was published) And that's fine, that is not where the value is

Rather Class is worth reading because it hits on something /real/ about the multiple social-cultural groups that exist in a complex society like America, and even if you don't try to systematize it you can start to Notice it and use it to tell stories about your world

P.S. Yep, “Class” is awesome. Having grown up in a country where a supposedly classless society has been violently foisted on top of an old class hierarchy, I was reading it and nodding, yep, this is it.
