Imo the honest-to-goodness singularity isn’t necessarily AGI, it’s when automation kills > half jobs. Humanity has no way of predicting that socio-cultural-political aftermath so after that point soc vs cap and all other political Qs dissolve in my mind

Whose utility? The job killing metric has already passed. Twice. Most had agri-jobs feeding our families. No longer. A big chunk of industry has been automated/innovated so thoroughly, that those jobs were wiped out too. We found things to want. Unknown unknowns rule.
