a thing that worries me is that everything being done now is setting precedent there will probably be Changes after things settle down too this is a legit constitutional (small c) crisis and it will be studied more or less forever

MPs are elected and then THEY pick the PM -- who derives their power from them, not the people directly, so if they fire the PM, it doesn't undermine the legitimacy of popular elections
