i searched the in*urrection hashtag and found a mix of right wing people who were convinced it had been employed and that tr*mp was seizing power as we spoke, and left wing people who want biden to use it to crush the republican party glad to know everyones doing well

Wait until this really shakes out. That will collapse: consider the 60%. Now it’s where the passion is. FWIW I’ve seen normally placid people literally shaking with fury this week. Watching Nazis with guns and zip ties cavort in the House is galvanizing like 9/11.

I had a kind of airless, text-based view of this. Figured the 60% were “meh, I guess no” as usual. I was shocked. Out in the real world, previously peaceful Tr*mp-skeptical people want blo*d. That’s growing. R*ghties are fcked.

I think you may be getting republican approval mixed up with overall approval. Last I saw a poll there was only 18% approval of the capitol riot.
-
Last I saw a poll, 18% of Republicans, 3% of Democrats, 7% of whites and 11% of non-whites supported it. And given cross-tabs, does every non-white Republican support the coup?

That 18 is sure to drop with emerging news. It’s instructive that is was close to the magic 20% number (20% approves any political thing initially).
