To a certain extent this is just the Youths making up norms in Youth spaces until they are Adults Then as Adults they push the norms in the Adult spaces Now we have Youths in Adult spaces learning norms pushed by Adults developed in Youth spaces

I think tumblr in particular was a Youth space that *felt* like an Adult space for a long time Before people realized that the long diatribes were in fact only being written by 17-20yo and a sizeable pop was under 14 Made norms there feel like "real" Adult norms even tho novel

I don’t think they’re aping their kids. They just never grew up themselves. Culture fully supports full-grown teenagers.
