the next time you find yourself facing an ethical dilemma simply ask yourself "what would a good person do in this circumstance" and then do that this isnt hard stuff

That's too simple. Virtuous ethics can't be exploited. Ethics exists to create loopholes to absolve people for morally reprehensible decisions.

That virtuous ethics can't be exploited? Of course they can if you have no sense of virtue. That's why I believe ethics exists to extinguish the emotional experience of virtue and replace it with rational thought.

Have you seen history or the modern world? All of the worst decisions are framed as "ethical" decisions because no one would accept describing them as virtuous.

Just because people use ethics poorly doesnt mean that thas the reason ethics exists or anything like that. From the message you got it sounded like ethics was only created as a guide for unethical actions... imo

i mean who funds ethics research except people who need breakthroughs in ethics that make entirely new classes of behavior ethical
