One of the most intellectually dishonest moves people I'm otherwise relatively on side with routinely play is to identify complex social movements with simple definitions of their ideology, and every time I see someone do this I trust them and any claims they make less.

I don't know whether this is actually a specifically left wing thing or whether I'm just more likely to see it when people I'm on side with do it, but it's a move that can definitely get in the sea.

Don't have a strong opinion on antifa (seems complicated and I don't know what I'd do with such an opinion, so haven't bothered), pretty pro feminism, but either of these takes are still a huge red flag about the person making them.
