You've posted this a couple times now, and while I appreciate the core of the message, it feels important to point out that this sort of lightbringing narrative overlaps with the shadow of what the British did in India while they were around. Stuff not much less worse than Sati.

Totally - I got where you were coming from and I really enjoyed the original context of 'Napier's Lesson'. Just that quote in isolation touches the savage/savior oversimplification, so just felt pulled to illuminate the shadow a bit.
