bought an easy chair with @selentelechia tonight, chatted with the sales guy about things and he mentioned the existence of LEASED FURNISHINGS?
sadly not sure there's any good way to restrict ornate credit instruments

apparently there are also kickbacks to car salesmen from lenders, and they actually take bids when they run ones credit thought it was weird as hell when i came in with a lovely preapproved credit offer and they wanted to run me again anyway hate this very much

cars = phones: functional oligopoly in which the only players refuse to make any products that are actually good bc no one can challenge them esp. re: privacy/user-sovereignty concerns (try to buy a car that won't track you) I half-think this is an intel op

how many different makes of new car can you buy now? 5? 10? all very similar in ways that matter and, it absolutely tracks you -- eg you can put a station by a road and ping people's tire pressure sensors, they have unique IDs

not talking about models, talking about different companies starting up a new car company is hard and, for all that differentiation, try to find one with minimal computerization, or any meaningful user computer control, or privacy-soundness
