Remote piloting can be jammed by a sophistacted adversary, and so it's only suitable for platforms intended for beating up on 3rd worlders, not peer adversaries. AI is already good enough for dogfighting, but nobody wants it making kill decisions without a human in the loop

Latency would be way too high unless you could put the command towers really close, and then you have to worry about jamming. Even a second of lag would probably make piloting crazy difficult (this video is probably actually a decent example)https://youtu.be/kxuwPRY8kEo
