gauss loved his mother and personally took care of her in her old age and i think that's really sweet
awwww the story I read was - his dad didn't want him to be a philosopher - he seemed to like math and that was ok, and his mom pushed for him to do that - he got some lessons courtesy the local minor noble's charity
