p-values are to knowledge as particle board is to solid walnut. Cheap, mass producible, works with any quality of input material, and ultimately garbage.
There aren't many people out there who know how to think critically about what they're looking at, but there are a lot of people getting PhDs, doing Research, publishing Science, competing for Tenure. If you made it all out of walnut you'd cut down all the trees.
