We have spent the entire fucking year knowing that Covid exists. It was sequenced early on. Apparently one of the vaccines was created at a basic level in February. Here is what the government should have done, if they assigned even a small probability to the candidate's utility

the most likely failure case here is that the candidate was ineffective and we waste several tens of billions of dollars which is NOTHING NOTHING 250,000 people are dead and we are running a fucking $3,000,000,000,000 deficit

we passed phase one in may and if the government were remotely competent they would have had a hundred million doses slotted for distribution. this is pathetic.
