Medical PhDs still good?
no idea. probably although might only be a marginal win over a straight MD
And please do not get a Master's unless you can articulate financial rewards as to why. Probably do not go to college at all unless it's a specific degree requirement for a position currently employing >200K people or STEM. /S being iffy.
People get history PhDs so they can have a university vouch for their ability to read.
what if its for library science
if no one will pay you to, at least
My little brother is trebling my salary straight out of his PhD program, but he is a Meat Scientist. I personally don't regret stopping grad school after my history M.A.
YMMV depending on whether MsC and PhD are free/paid in your country. In any case: have a goal. If the PhD is required for it, go ahead. if not, don't.
